Connecting more than 140 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Europe and South West Asia.

Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat)

Yahsat, fully owned by Mubadala, was established in 2007 to meet the growing demand in the region for government, commercial and consumer satellite communication services, while supporting Abu Dhabi’s ambition to become a broadcasting and telecommunications hub.

The company’s first satellite, Y1A, launched from Arianespace’s Guiana Space Center in April 2011, supporting commercial services delivery to more than 64 countries. Y1B, launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan a year later in 2012, and delivers affordable satellite broadband services to 28 countries in the Middle East, Africa and South West Asia.

Al Yah 3 launched in January 2018 in Brazil. The new satellite is set to serve 95 per cent of the country’s population and will extend commercial Ka-band coverage to 19 new markets.

YahClick, Yahsat’s satellite broadband service, has over 34,000 customers in African countries.
