Satellite communication is using signals beamed up to orbiting satellites which then retransmit the signals back to earth.

All other methods of communication including copper cable, fibre optic cable, radio, microwave and HF radio, etc are terrestrial communications

terrestrial is earth bound and uses antenna while satellite is not earth bound it works through satellite dish.

Terrestrial network covers only specific area of earth a distance up to 5000 miles while satellite use wide range of area approximately 100,000 miles.

I think terrestrial is point to point whereas satellite is sent from earth – space – earth.
